OUR MISSION IS TO MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR ERIE COUNTY – AND THAT'S A PROMISE WE INTEND TO KEEP.
At Tendto Credit Union, our investment in Erie, its people and its institutions is a deposit toward our shared future. What’s good for all is good for us and good for you. Together, let's make a difference right here in our local community. To Erie — lake, county and people.
Making a Difference: Tendto Credit Union's Community Impact - 2025
At Tendto, we tend to care a little more. Supporting our community isn’t just something we do, it’s who we are. From scholarships and sponsorships to volunteerism and charitable giving, we are happy to support initiatives that strengthen Erie County and the people who call it home.
Supporting Education & Future Leaders
At Tendto, we believe in empowering the next generation. In 2025, we awarded $17,500 in scholarships to three outstanding young adult members as they continued their academic journeys.
To foster a spirit of giving, each recipient selected a nonprofit to receive a $500 donation on their behalf. These contributions supported the Erie City Mission, the Erie City Mission Outreach Program, and the Erie Yacht Club’s Reyburn Sailing School Fund—organizations making a meaningful difference throughout our community.
Giving Back & Strengthening Our Community
We tend to go the extra mile when it comes to supporting local causes. In 2025, our team members led a year-round charity campaign, raising $4,469.76 to benefit the BackPack Program at Second Harvest Food Bank and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital at AHN St. Vincent.
On International Credit Union Day, Tendto donated $1,500 to six local charities, including the Autism Society, Erie Humane Society, ANNA Shelter, L’Arche Erie, A Hand Up ERIE, and Asbury Woods—helping support programs that strengthen our community, care for animals, and assist families in need.
We were also proud to support the Autism Society’s Trunk or Treat event as the official Trick-or-Treat bag sponsor, helping create a fun and welcoming Halloween celebration for families in our community.
Tendto also sponsored the Second Harvest Holiday Box Online Telethon, helping provide holiday meals to families across Erie County.
During the holiday season, our Community Trees initiative raised $387.04 for Erie Humane Society, A Hand Up ERIE, and SafeNet, helping extend support to organizations serving individuals and families throughout Erie County.
Encouraging Youth & Sports Development
At Tendto, we tend to champion teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. That’s why we proudly support local youth athletics and school programs. Our continued sponsorship of Girard High School athletics, including football, wrestling, basketball, and baseball, helps ensure student-athletes have opportunities to grow both on and off the field. Additionally, we recognized the Erie News Now Athlete of the Year with a $2,500 scholarship, honoring excellence in academics, sportsmanship, and community involvement.
Promoting Financial Literacy
Helping our community build strong financial futures is an important part of what we do. In 2025, Tendto partnered with McDowell High School to bring financial education into the classroom. Students in Mrs. Barzeski’s Financial Literacy classes explored key financial topics, completed challenges, and built confidence in managing money and planning for their futures.
Making an Impact Through Volunteerism
Our employees are committed to giving back through hands-on involvement whenever possible. In 2025, Tendto proudly supported Sarah’s Great Giveaway, hosted by the Sarah Reed Children’s Center, helping provide essential items to individuals and families in need.
Our team also participated in the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, helping raise funds and awareness for children and families receiving care at AHN St. Vincent.
In addition, members of our management team and Board of Directors participated in community golf outings benefiting Junior Achievement, the Girard School District Foundation, and the Children’s Miracle Network, extending Tendto’s impact throughout the community.
At Tendto, making life better for Erie County is more than a mission—it’s our everyday commitment.
