At Tendto, we make it a priority to support young members looking to pursue higher education. To help our members fund their future, we’re investing in YOU! We are now accepting applications for our 2025 Scholarship Program.
Our Scholarship Program is designed to support college-age members who are motivated in their academic endeavors, active in their schools and contributing to their community by giving back to others through their participation, service and volunteer work.
Tendto will award a total of $17,500 to three recipients for 2025. The first place winner will receive $10,000, the second place winner will receive $5,000 and the third place winner will receive $2,500. Each winner will also have a $500 donation made to the charity of their choice.
Interested in applying? Eligible applicants must:

Be a primary member in good standing (account is in your name listed first)

Have a cumulative High School or College GPA of 3.0 or higher

Be a graduating high school senior or an enrolling/returning undergraduate student

Plan to enroll in an accredited college or vocational school full time (12+ hours) for the upcoming academic year

Not be employed by Tendto or serving on the Board of Directors
Applications must be complete and submitted on or before Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted for any reason. Complete applications must include:

At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher dated for the current year (maximum of 2)

Current high school or college transcript showing at least the last 2 quarters or most recent semester
2025 Scholarship Topic Question
Interested applicants must submit a 500-1,000 word essay or a 3-5 minute video answering this year's scholarship topic question. Video entries can be edgy, funny, bold, simple, serious – or anything in between. Submissions must be written or created by the applicant themselves.

Credit unions were built on the idea of serving their members, but are they meeting the needs of the next generation? For this essay, explore what your peers value most when choosing where to bank — things like mobile banking, customer service, low fees, or community involvement. Conduct a short survey or interview fellow students, and provide suggestions for how a credit union like Tendto can better reach and support your generation.

Q. Can I apply if I’ve won before?
Yes! Previous winners are welcome to re-apply every year if they still meet the criteria for scholarship eligibility. Make sure to check the requirements before starting a new application.
Q. How will I know if I won?
Winners will be selected by June 30. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be notified by email. You will not receive an email if you were not selected.
Q. Who can I contact if I have a problem with my application?
Our scholarship applications are processed internally. If you encounter problems with your application please contact a Tendto team member at 814.455.6400.
Q. What if I need to make a change to my application?
If you need to make a change to your scholarship application, please contact the credit union. Changes can be made to your application up until June 1.
